About us
Welcome to a glimpse of Charlotte Panhellenic! Our vibrant community includes 7 chapters where over 700 women call home. We are the largest Womens-only organization on campus. Charlotte Panhellenic is filled with student leaders committed to bettering not only our greek community, but also our university and the city of Charlotte. Our chapters unite diverse backgrounds through sisterhood, community service, and leadership. Each individual brings their own speciality, embodying the core values of our Panhellenic community.
The Charlotte Panhellenic Association (PHA) is the governing body of the sororities on campus. As such, it establishes guidelines, facilitates recruitment, and fosters the growth and development of the sorority community. The purpose of our Executive Board is to support sorority processes to further outstanding accomplishment. PHA also compiles rules governing recruitment, new member periods, and initiation. Its purpose is to create an environment where women can become better women. Within Panhellenic, women are provided with opportunities for campus involvement, leadership and professional development, community service, academic support, and bonds found within sisterhood. The Panhellenic experience will provide you with friendships and memories that truly last a lifetime!
Letter from the President
Hi! My name is Dawson Jarman, President for UNC-Charlotte's National Panhellenic Conference or as we call it, PHA. As a community, Panhellenic is dedicated to helping each of you find your forever home here at Charlotte. The Panhellenic community at Charlotte is composed of over 700 women making up 7 unique chapters.
I started my college journey wanting nothing to do with sororities, and would actually do anything to avoid them, however without joining Panhellenic my college experience and personal growth would be very different. Greek Life at Charlotte has been the biggest factor in my collegiate success. All throughout high school, I was very involved in my school community, I had amazing friends and held numerous leadership positions. But much like many other freshmen, when I came to Charlotte, I was very lost and unsure of what to do with myself and with this new canvas of opportunities. Greek life gave me that purpose, and it gave me a stepping stone to so many other opportunities that have helped prepare me for my future.
Joining panhellenic is greater than joining your own organization, you are joining a community of women who want to grow and become better themselves. I am very fortunate to have met so many amazing young women who have encouraged me to run for leadership positions like this one, been my shoulder to cry on after a hard test, pushed me to reach my goals academically and professionally, and most importantly have made Charlotte feel like home. If you are a woman who knows sorority life is for her and have already signed up for recruitment, we are so excited for you! If you are a woman who is unsure of sorority life, I encourage you to take the leap and sign up for recruitment! I am so fortunate to have found a space that encourages me to be a better leader, student, and friend all within my short 4 years here at Charlotte, and I know you will find your home here too.
It is my privilege to be able to share the immense love I have received from this amazing community and give back to those who have helped me get to where I am today. Charlotte's panhellenic community is composed of women from different walks of life and are all united in being a panhellenic women. Going greek can open so many doors for you! Your time in college is short and will go by in a blink of an eye! Take hold of every opportunity that comes before you and take the leap and say yes!
With Love,
Dawson Jarman
Panhellenic President
